Shafeek Seddiq is the founder and principal attorney of Seddiq Law Firm, PLLC. For more than twenty years, he has served individuals, families, business owners, and healthcare professionals throughout Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. His practice includes estate planning, business law, real estate matters, and healthcare regulatory counsel.
During law school, Shafeek served as an external judicial intern for a U.S. District Court Judge and published a law review article on intellectual property. He later worked at a large Washington, D.C. law firm before opening his own practice, where he handled business, real estate, and civil litigation matters. These early experiences gave him broad insight into how legal issues affect both individuals and organizations.
In 2009, he spent nearly a decade in Afghanistan as part of the civilian surge, working on initiatives related to anti-corruption, rule of law, counterterrorism, and institutional development. That period reinforced his belief in the importance of stable legal systems and the role attorneys play in helping people and institutions navigate complex environments.
After returning to the U.S., he resumed private practice and continues to work with clients across a range of legal needs. In 2023, Shafeek joined a multi-clinic urgent and primary care organization as General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer. He now serves in a scaled capacity as Outside General Counsel and fractional COO, advising on regulatory compliance, governance, provider contracting, and operational matters. This experience informs the practical, balanced guidance he provides to healthcare practices and business clients.
As a Muslim attorney, Shafeek has longstanding connections with Middle Eastern, African, and Asian communities throughout the region. He assists clients who wish to incorporate Islamic inheritance principles into their estate plans in a manner consistent with Virginia and federal law. He also serves as a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) for incapacitated adults and volunteers with the Northern Virginia Pro Bono Law Center’s “Wills on Wheels” and Housing Law programs, reflecting his ongoing commitment to public service and community support.
Shafeek approaches every matter with the goal of understanding each client’s situation and providing clear, practical guidance. He aims to make the law accessible and manageable, offering flat-fee and value-based pricing in many areas to support predictability and open communication. Many clients continue to work with him over the years because they appreciate his patient, measured, and reliable approach.
Shafeek is a husband and father of three. Family is at the heart of his practice, shaping his commitment to helping others protect what they have built and plan for the future. In his free time, he enjoys reading, experimenting in the kitchen, and unwinding with a good movie.
